: New Volunteer Training
You can help in the conservation, stewardship and recovery of Hawaii’s protected marine species.
Are you interested in joining one or more of our field response and support teams? We offer fun and rewarding experiences working to support Hawaiian monk seals, sea turtles and seabirds.
We also have other great ways to help out by joining our Outreach & Education or Dispatch & Reporting teams.
To help on any of these volunteer teams, there is a 4-step process:
(1) If you have not already done so, please complete the online volunteer application form HERE.
(2) After you have completed the online application, attend our orientation class. The next class will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019. The class starts at 5:30 pm SHARP so please give yourself plenty of time for traffic. Space is limited and you must RSVP to attend the class as they fill up quickly.
(3) Following the orientation class, you will review training materials and complete one or more online quizzes covering the information you need to know.
(4) Once you have successfully finished the online quizzes, you’ll complete “on the job” training to actually perform volunteer duties. That way, you’ll be confident, effective and have the most fun possible while helping in species conservation and recovery.
