In the Summer of 2024 Hawaiʻi Marine Animal Response (HMAR) will open its new HMAR Care Center. The HMAR Care Center will be the only full-time sea turtle emergency care and rehabilitation center on Oʻahu. Oʻahu bears the brunt of the majority of sea turtle strandings in Hawaiʻi - about 75% of our state's total each year. So the new HMAR Care Center will play an important role in the conservation and recovery of sea turtles in Hawaiʻi.
