HMAR is the only nonprofit organization providing comprehensive marine animal response and ocean ecosystem stewardship across O’ahu and Molokai, operating under federal and state permits and with agreements with NOAA, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the State of Hawai’i. These authorizations and experience, plus our independent Charity Navigator “4-Star” and GuideStar (Candid) Platinum ratings, ensure our supporters are investing in work that is accountable, compliant, and effective.
As the largest Hawaiʻi-based nonprofit engaged in marine protected animal and ecosystem conservation, we are active 7 days each week, 365 days each year, conducting real-world visible activity that is defined and documented. Our work provides detailed impact reporting, so supporters receive accurate and credible data to support CSR, sustainability, and ESG initiatives, grounded in real outcomes from the field.
Corporate Support Frameworks

Our three core corporate support programs are (1) our Hawaiʻi Marine Stewards Program, an annual-giving supporter strategy specifically designed to deliver significant benefits to companies and brands in the hospitality and tourism industries, (2) our Corporate Conservation Sponsorships, an annual-giving supporter framework for businesses and brands in other industries, and (3) our One-Time Gift Sponsorship, a single-transaction gift of corporate support. All corporate support programs are based on financial or in-kind giving. Each of these three core programs offers different investment tiers designed to fit any budget, each with real value, and all resulting in a direct and positive impact on marine conservation. Your Impact: Your company support helps to sustain our HMAR Care Center, the only full-time marine protected animal emergency treatment and rehabilitation facility on Oʻahu, currently focused on sea turtle critical care, husbandry, and veterinary support with medical resources behind our 90% success rate. You ensure every sick or injured animal that arrives at our door gets world-class care, 365 days a year.
Your Impact: Your support helps to enable and equip our field response team members, rescue vehicles, vessels, transportation, fuel, insurance, supplies, and training for the hundreds of emergency responses we mount each year, where minutes can mean the difference for Hawaiian monk seals, sea turtles, and seabirds. Your company puts trained responders on the ground or in the ocean within minutes of an emergency call. Speed saves lives, and you make that speed possible.
Your Impact: Funds help us protect and support Hawaiian monk seal pups born each year. Your company helps provide monitoring operations, perimeter fencing to reduce human/dog interactions, and regular HMAR volunteer or staff presence to record animal development and conduct public education. Your support protects the all-important Hawaiian monk seal pupping process, which is so critical for this very endangered marine mammal that is found nowhere else on Earth.
Your Impact: Your corporation supports HMAR’s extensive seabird work, including emergency seabird rescues, habitat management at critical nesting colonies, and community education to reduce seabird predation and deadly light pollution. Your support gives Hawaiʻi’s vulnerable seabirds a fighting chance at survival— protecting species whose existence depends on HMAR actions and community care.
Your Impact: Your organization helps ensure we can continue our hotline coverage, which responds to thousands of calls annually, so no report goes unaddressed, and every community member gets expert guidance. Your organization ensures that when someone finds a seal in distress, a turtle entangled in fishing line, or a grounded seabird — help is just a phone call away. Your support provides the HMAR voice on the phone that says, “We’re coming.”
Your Impact: Your company supports HMAR’s significant fieldwork related to Hawaiʻi’s vulnerable sea turtles. Oʻahu is the epicenter of human-caused threats to sea turtles and bears the majority (~75%) of all sea turtle emergencies and strandings in the State of Hawaiʻi. From responding to assess a reported sea turtle of concern to rescuing sea turtles with injuries, entanglements, caught in rocks, or suffering from disease, HMAR is the lead responder for all sea turtle emergencies on the island of Oʻahu.

For supporters in the hospitality business, sponsorships range from as little as $.35 per room per month up to $1.00 per room per month (billed annually in advance). For businesses in the tourism sector (not in hospitality), annual sponsorship levels are based on business revenue.

Our “Advocate” tier is for annual sponsorships starting at $3,000. “Protector” level sponsors fund annually starting at $10,000; our “Guardian” business partners participate annually starting at $20,000; and our “Legacy” level sponsors support HMAR annually at $40,000 or more.
